For the fourth consecutive year, Jacked Factory athlete and reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead saw himself in yet another showdown with the likes of Breon Ashley at the finals of the Mr. Olympia 2020 Classic Physique contest. After dethroning Breon last year by just one point on the final scorecard, Chris Bumstead knew his longstanding rival wasn’t throwing in the towel anytime soon.
Breon and Chris shared several heated exchanges at the Mr. Olympia 2020 Press Conference leading up to the Classic Physique finals, as Breon felt confident he brought the better overall package this year.
The always-charismatic C-Bum jokingly mentioned that his mustache is even thicker this year, but Breon was clearly not in a mood for humor, responding, “It’s no mustache; it’s no ‘fro; it’ll be straight up physique…”
Nevertheless, Chris was as poised and earnest as ever, noting that he would not have his smile back until he was the champ (again). Bumstead also felt like he truly found his groove this year, which may be due in part to 8x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath giving him some advice throughout 2020.
The excitement only increased as the weekend went on, as both men brought their best physiques to the stage. But would Breon Ashely be able to reclaim the title? Or did C-Bum take the crown home for the second year in a row?
Final Results for Mr. Olympia Classic Physique 2020
Ultimately, Chris Bumstead emerged victorious at the Mr. Olympia 2020 finals and is now the repeat Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion! This was arguably C-Bum’s most complete look to date as the callouts suggested he was the clear leader of the pack.
Perhaps the real predicament for the judges was deciding who would take second place behind Chris. Surprisingly, Breon Ashley came in third place behind the likes of runner-up Terrence Ruffin. Alex Cambronero and Ryan Jones placed fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the top five competitors in the 2020 Mr. Olympia Classic Physique.
In 2015, C-Bum won the overall in bodybuilding Junior Canadian Nationals, and in 2016 he earned his IFBB pro card as the overall Bodybuilding Heavyweight Champion at the IFBB North American Championships at just 21 years of age.
After turning pro, Bumstead switched to the Classic Physique division and finished in second place behind Breon Ashley in his first two years — 2017 and 2018 — of the Mr. Olympia competition. Now it appears that Chris has separated himself even further from Breon and has a new competitor on his tail in Terrence Ruffin.
